Welcome to Me!

Bism Illah wa as salaamu alaikum.

Alhamdu l'Illah! A space of my own for my thoughts, my ideas, my extremism to be voiced. This is big, and with it comes a big responsibility, for in expressing my thoughts and inner struggles, I must not cross the line. What I mean, and you can consider this a clear disclaimer, is that when I write about things I wrestle with in my mind and heart, I am not issuing any edicts - no fatwas-a-la-Mai. I'm simply stating how I think and how I perceive things.

I'm ALL about giving it ALL over to Allah and playing it safe by getting back to the lifestyle, etiquette, practices, and manners of the Prophet Muhammad, salla Allahu alayhi wa sallam. I'm not the sister who says, "Hey, just one children's movie with some music can't hurt." I'm the sister who says, "If it contains haram, then it there is no benefit to outweigh that." Yes, I'm tough...and it gets hard at times because those around me aren't on the same page in real life. But hey...that's what my bloggie blog is all about: Mai to the extreme!

Fi amaan Illah.

  1. As salamu alaikum wa rahmatullah wa barakatuh Ukhty,

Masha Allah I am loving it.

I think I am on the same chapter as you, in sha Allah I will get to the same page you are on soon. I have been striving to change the life of my children and myself. We no longer watch TV, however they have a few kiddies videos which need to be confiscated as they contain music. I have recently bought them the Muslim scouts videos unfortunately they also contain music?????

I will be following your blog in sha Allah so I can grow with you.

    Fe aman Illah

  2. Wa alaikum as salaam wa Rahmat Allah wa Barakatuh Twinnie!

About 4 years ago we bought the Muslim Scouts and I was so disappointed that they had music as well. The Zaky videos don't have any music, just nasheed. They are much better masha'Allah, but I'm looking into some Islamic tv sites that are REALLY Islamic...Sunnah TV may be one insha'Allah.

Yes, let's grow habibty...in heart and mind, not body LOL.

    As salaamu alaikum.

Masha'Allah, do you mean a link to view them online or to buy them? Online, I will see what I can do...by now I would think they are there somewhere, bi ithn Allah. I have a group, Simply Sunnah Sisters, where I post all about going back to the Sunnah in our living...so if you like this, I guess you'll like that, LOL! I'm happy to have some more company, so ahlan wa sahlan! Jazaaki Allahu khayran for adding me to your blog roll...I am honored!

  6. Assalaamu alaikum ukhti

I am reading your blog from the begining as I find so much benefit from stopping by here. I remember the first time I came by here when my husband mentioned polygyny and I found this the only place where I could find an example of a sister who was struggling through it with her imaan intact. This blog continues to inspire me. Wal Hamdulillah.

  7. Wa alaykum as salaam wa Rahmat Alah wa Barakatuh Umm Imaan.

Welcome, ahlan wa sahlan, and make yourself comfortable! Believe it or not, I started this blog as something like an online diary. That was the idea of it, but it is an added blessing and mercy that others find some benefit in it as well. Truly, al hamdul'Illah! It is an honor to have you stop by.

    1. Wa alaykum assalaam wa Rahmatullahi wa Barakaatuh!

Maashaa Allah, sister! No, I'm not Vietnamese, LOL. In fact, I'm British...mixed race with a caucasian British mother and a Jamaican British father. I took the name Mai when I became Muslim, as it is also an Arabic name - letters meem (with a fatha) and yaa (with a sukoon- making a harf leen). It is pronounced Mayy or Mayee, with an emphasis on the y.

So glad you like the blog and I pray it brings you some benefit. Wa iyaaki ukhti wa feeki barak Allah - ameen!
